Fitting Roof Insulation Foil

Reflective foil insulation installation on a roof is usually done in the ceiling attics or other spaces that separate the roof from the ceiling.

Due to the varying nature of the construction of buildings each property may require a slightly different approach when installing insulation on the roof. Ensure overlaps are fully taped and sealed using thermaseal foil joining tape. The conservaheat multi foil insulation system has been specially designed for professional installation and designed and manufactured in the uk. It is easily cut and placed and reflects heat rather than absorbing it.

Usually reflective foil is about 25mm thick and gives a very good u value for its relative thickness. Superquilt can be easily cut using multifoil scissors or a cutting knife both available in our multifoil fitting kit. Reflective foil insulation is made from layers of aluminium foil surrounding a wadding or layer of wool material. Remember to apply a decent amount of tension when stapling and to do it at 50 to 100 mm intervals.

Ensure all superquilt insulation joints are overlapped by min 50mm. Foil insulation works slightly differently however. When installing foil insulation you must use a quality stapler. Also when you overlap the joints be sure to keep it to a 50 mm lap.
