Place the strip flush against the front with the straight side along the edge of the roof. Lay a starter strip. Using this chalk line method extend the first row around the entire shed. Align the starter shingle so that 3 4 sticks past the drip edge.

Take your first strip of shingles and point the hexagonal tabs towards the apex. Nail the starter strip with 1 1 4 galvanized roofing nails in a line 1 1 2 to 3 from the drip edge.
